About me


An evolutionary biologist leaning towards my wish in exploring the genetic signatures that identify the most resilient individuals and populations of plants to extreme environments and severe climates in the tropics.


I am a research fellow in genomics and trait evolution at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, where I began the first independent position of my career in 2021 with a project on the evolution of rock outcrop lineages funded by the Royal Society's Newton International Fellowship. During these years, I have had the opportunity to develop my expertise in genomics, big data, bioinformatics and comparative methods.

Since 2023, in a fixed-term research position as a Kew Research Fellow. I have then broadened my expertise to sustainable livelihoods and implemented a NERC-funded project on "Landscape genomics of Brazil nut: unlocking climate resilience". Beyond food sustainability, my interests encompass a diverse range of topics, including phylogenomics and trait evolution in Gentianales, Apocynaceae, Velloziaceae, Leguminosae, and Eriocaulaceae. I predominantly use these lineages as model systems in my research, always in an integrative approach that draw deeply on robust methods to explore patterns and processes across the tropical region.
